How to Decorate a Studio Apartment

Studio apartment is a state of art concept and is crucial for modern times in which the horizontal spaces are getting more and more cramped. However, it also presents some difficulties pertaining to decor aesthetics. After all, a studio apartment is one room inclusive of a sleeping area, entertainment zone, kitchen area and living place. So how do you go about decorating it in an aesthetic way? Thankfully, there are ways in which you can still do justice to the styling of your studio apartments.

Illusion of Space

Of the many ways to add sparkle to your studio room, first is to find a decor symmetry that creates an optical illusion. In other words, you should create an illusion of space. Mirrors work brilliantly for such an illusion. In addition, you should choose vertical stripes as much as possible. This can be true for your wall mural, texture paints or even blinds and shutters. To add to the vertical symmetry, you can also use furniture that come with higher legs.

Metal and Glass Furniture Work Well

Using metal or glass furniture can aid in highlighting space. They provide a larger visual expanse due to their form and design. Using wooden furniture can give quite an opposite result and may make your studio apartment look more shrunken. Use blinds and shades but close windows only optimally. A free interplay of light allows the rooms to look larger than they actually are.

Storage Cabinets for Hiding Clutter

It is prudent to use storage cabinets impeccably. This means that any clutter or mess that might be created otherwise should be effectively placed within the storage cabinet. One cabinet at the periphery of the studio room is enough and ideally, it should be large enough to tackle all the ''dirty linens''. I find the special three shelf-cabinet with modular make-up quite engrossing. It is lightweight but at the same time very sturdy too.

Give a Chance to Nature

A fireplace works very well. If you have a natural piece with a chimney outlet, noting can be better. Natural shades enhance the impact of space. To use nature, you can utilize potted flower plants and bonsai arrangements. They offer greenery and take your mind towards nature. This creates a psychologically broader space. Lampshades and graphic formats on walls work well too. You must take care not to go for parallel formats, as they require greater sub tension of human eye and hence create a shriveled look for your studio apartments.

Challenging But Satisfying

Decorating a studio room can be quite challenging and you need to get your act perfectly. However, once done, it also gives you maximum satisfaction. The challenge is to segregate space and create different zones within the same room. For this purpose, you can use accent lights and task lights. They help in compartmentalization of space in your studio apartment. With proper measures, you will find a small but inviting living space glaring at you and a nice little sleeping zone warming you with a cuddle.
