A Guide to Ladies Perfume

Having a hard time buying ladies perfume? Not a surprise - with thousands of manufacturers making hundreds of different scents, it can be a jungle out there. In order to truly understand ladies perfume, perhaps it will help to take a step back and look at the big picture.

There are essentially four different types of ladies perfumes, depending on the strength of the fragrance. Perfume is measured by the level of aromatic compounds in the liquid. The strength of the perfume will directly affect how long the scent will last; it will also directly affect the cost. Remember, stronger isn't always better.

If you are particularly sensitive to smells, you probably don't want to buy the strongest perfume possible. This is why it is important that you smell many different types of ladies perfume.

The strongest of ladies perfumes is, simply enough, called perfume. It is the strongest of the bunch and the scent will often last for six plus hours.

Much more common is eau de parfume. This is the traditional ladies perfume, with a scent lasting about 3-5 hours. Eau de parfume will also cost less than perfume. Finally, you'll come across eau de toilette. Unsurprisingly, this is even less concentrated than eau de parfume, lasting only 2 hours or so. It is cheaper than eau de parfume, and significantly cheaper than perfume.

Now that you know the different types of ladies perfume, where can you buy it? Traditionally, ladies perfume is sold at retail stores such as Macy's, Sears, and Nordstroms. Nowadays, ladies perfume is sold everywhere: you can find it at retail stores, on the internet, and even pharmacies!

Of course, the selection of ladies perfume you find depends on where you go. For instance, where would you go if you wanted high-end ladies perfume? These brands include Calvin Klein, Chanel, and Burberry. You will probably only find these brands at more expensive retail stores, such as Macy's and Nordstroms.

The advantage of going to a high-end store to buy perfume is that they will let you sample the perfume first. Since there are so many different perfume scents, it is important that you smell many different perfumes in order to find the one you like. If you want, you can spray the perfume directly on your skin.

However, pretty soon you won't be able to smell anything at all! Instead, use the test strips near the perfume bottles - spray the perfume on the test strip, smell, and then throw the test strip away.

If you're on a budget, perhaps you should take a look at perfume testers. Ladies perfume can be expensive, and perfume testers are a great way to sample many different perfumes. Perfume testers are the exact same bottles of perfume, except without the fancy packaging. What this means to you is a significant cost savings over retail.

Ladies perfume will make a great gift for any occasion. It can simply be a friendly gift during Christmas. Or, it could be a romantic gift during Valentines. The occasion doesn't matter; one thing is certain - ladies love perfume.
